After a year and a half of flipping my classroom, If felt confident that it was something I should share. I led a sectional at the 2013 TX District Educator's Conference Charged that showed teachers what a flipped classroom looks like. Edcamp 2015 Discussion Leader - Assessment Strategies and Video Making Projects
In the spring of 2015, I led 2 different discussion at Edcamp POPCS. The first was on varied assessment strategies. I shared some of my research on the use of portfolios and a few other things I've done. After I introduced the topic, I asked other staff what they do as well. A colleague of mine, Kacie came up with a formative assessment tool called Kahoot and shared it with the discussion group and later with the entire staff during the Slam Session. In another session we brainstormed various video editing apps and project ideas. Evidence of the session schedule is to the right in addition to the notes that were taken by a colleague during the assessment strategies session.
