Edmodo Survey - What Apps Should We Use Next Year?
Each year, we advise families that are new to the 1:1 program what apps they should download in preparation for the school year. The running list of apps constantly changes as new apps come out and old apps become obsolete. Since I only use a limited number of apps in my classroom, I asked the student body what other apps should be included on the list. They provided a ton of helpful feedback that allowed me to remove some apps from the list that weren't being used in addition to some new apps I hadn't heard of before.

Collaboration with Google Sheets - Solar Data Informs the Engineering Process
I trained students this year to use Google sheets to store data from testing their solar ovens. Each of their five tests was stored in a team shared Google Sheet. Every time data was collected, they filled in another blank about how they might improve their design for the next found of tests. They also wrote down the person who would perform the improvements.

Using Edmodo to Help Inform Big Decisions
I'm stepping into a new position at my school this summer as the new Director of Innovative Teaching and Learning. With this job came my first big decision to abandon 6th grade technology or to keep it. Our staff was doing such a fantastic job of integrating the NETS into their classrooms that the 6th grade technology course was redundant. Regardless, it was a tough decision that I didn't want to make without receiving counsel from a variety of sources. I posted the question to Edmodo, and I received a ton of helpful feedback.
