Flipped Professional Development
These are some notes I took from TCEA 2015 in Austin, TX. I was introduced to the concept of flipped professional development. As the presenter said, time is somewhat of a cuss word for teachers. We can't stand wasting time. Flipping PD takes out some of the time constraints and puts the focus more on learning during the PD session. If teachers can watch training videos on an app or tech tool before they come to the session, they can spend more time learning and engaging in higher levels of thinking. The notes on the right are a summary of what I learned in the two sectionals that I attended.

My Twitter Community
I glean a variety of resources from Twitter. I continue to find new people to follow. The resources will never end. If something new in education comes out, I'll know about it sooner than later with Twitter. Here are a few screenshots of just some of the people that I follow. My Twitter account is mainly for professional development. That's evident by the people I follow.

20% Time
I hadn't heard of 20% time until TCEA 2014. I attended a few sectionals on the topic and got a good feel for what it's all about. I learned that it's a fantastic way to help kids take class skills and apply them to something meaningful that ISN'T GRADED! What? Something not graded? Who does that? (please sense my sarcasm). It was enlightening to see an innovative project idea combined with alternative forms of assessment.
