Adobe Premiere - Advanced Video Editing
This student-made economics video is a result of some video editing skills he learned in Video Production class. He raps and edits audio on his own time, but when he combined that with the skills he learned in Video Production and Economics classes, the final product was incredibly creative. A rap written on paper is one thing, but when it's performed AND put into video form, the result is powerful.

Science Blogs - Making Science Relevant
This is an e-mail I sent to parents concerning a blogging assignment that I began in 2012. In this assignment students regularly research something they are passionate about while connecting it to science within their blog post. At the root of the assignment is my desire for them to connect what is unknown to something that is known to them with the hope of creating more solid neural pathways. Following posts, students comment on each others posts and offer feedback. It is a highly engaging and effective learning tool as can be seen through this blog that one of my students wrote. Whitney's Blog If the link to the student blog every stops working, a screenshot of it can be found HERE.

Student-Made Physics Tutorials
Students in my 8th grade science class made videos using the app Explain Everything. Using this app allows them to demonstrate mastery of physics concept or problem, but it also allows them to express creativity. Each student made their own YouTube channel and then create physics tutorials.

Notability - God is Like
Student in this assignment created spiritual analogies connected to science principles. I asked them to used the app Notability in order to encourage some creativity and increase technical proficiency. Students formed their analogy and wrote it in a paragraph. Next, they drew a visual to help the reader make more sense of the analogy. And finally, they found two scripture verses that aligned with their analogy. A sample of a student God is Like assignment can be seen to the right.
